Solar-Powered Pumping Solutions
Reliable, low-maintenance solar water pumps for agricultural irrigation, borewell applications, and community water supply across rural and semi-urban Maharashtra.
Solar Pump Systems for Every Application
Treflik Solar supplies and installs three core solar pump configurations, covering every agricultural and community water pumping requirement.
Submersible Solar Pump
Designed for deep borewell applications up to 300 ft depth. Available in 1–10 HP, with DC motor for direct solar coupling without inverter losses. Ideal for open wells and tube wells.
- Depth: up to 300 ft
- Range: 1 HP – 10 HP
- Motor: DC brushless
- Head: up to 120m
Surface Solar Pump
Self-priming surface pumps for canal, river, and open tank water lifting. Compact, easy to install, and compatible with drip and sprinkler irrigation systems.
- Application: canal/open water
- Range: 1 HP – 5 HP
- Self-priming: up to 8m
- Flow: up to 50,000 L/hr
AC Solar Pump with VFD
Three-phase AC pump driven by a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) for applications requiring precise flow control. Suitable for large irrigation systems and municipal supply.
- Range: 5 HP – 15 HP
- Motor: 3-phase AC
- Control: VFD with MPPT
- Grid hybrid: compatible
Where Solar Pumps Perform Best
Treflik Solar pumps are deployed across a wide range of agricultural, aquaculture, and community water supply applications.
Why Solar Pumps Over Diesel
Solar pumps eliminate fuel costs, reduce maintenance burden, and qualify for government subsidies that make them cost-competitive from Day 1.
PM-KUSUM Subsidy Eligible
Solar water pumps qualify for up to 60% government subsidy under the PM-KUSUM scheme, dramatically reducing capital outlay for farmers.
Remote GSM Monitoring
Each pump system includes a GSM/GPRS controller for remote on/off switching, runtime logging, and dry-run fault alerts — no on-site presence needed.
Dry-Run & Over-Voltage Protection
Built-in protection against dry-run damage, over-voltage, under-voltage, and phase-loss ensures long motor life in India's grid conditions.
No Electricity Bills
Solar pumps run entirely on sunlight — eliminating diesel fuel costs and grid electricity bills for daytime irrigation operations.
Solar Pump System Performance
Key performance and financial metrics from Treflik Solar's agricultural pump installations.
Direct solar pumps consume zero grid electricity — 100% powered by sunlight during operation hours.
Unlike diesel pumps, solar pumps have zero ongoing fuel cost — saving ₹1,500–2,500 per month for a typical 5 HP installation.
Solar panels carry a 25-year performance warranty; pump motors are designed for 20+ years of reliable operation.

Solar Water Pump Questions
The right pump depends on two key parameters: total head (vertical height water must be lifted, plus pipe friction losses) and required flow rate (litres per hour for your irrigated area). As a guide: 1–2 HP handles shallow wells and small farms under 2 acres; 3–5 HP suits medium farms with 30–60m head; 7.5–10 HP suits large farms or deeper borewells with 80–120m head. Our technical team will evaluate your specific borewell depth, water table, and acreage and recommend the optimal system.
Most agricultural solar pumps operate on a direct-coupled basis — the pump runs only when the sun shines, eliminating the need for battery storage and significantly reducing system cost. For applications requiring night-time pumping (such as fish farms or municipal supply), we offer battery-backed configurations. The PM-KUSUM scheme typically covers direct-coupled systems; battery options are available at additional cost.
Total head = static head (depth from ground to water table) + dynamic head (additional drawdown during pumping) + friction head (losses in pipes and fittings). For a typical 200 ft borewell with 40 ft drawdown and 30m of surface delivery pipe, total head is typically 80–100m. We conduct a detailed head calculation as part of our pump assessment before recommending a system size.
Solar pumps are significantly lower maintenance than diesel pumps. The panels require quarterly cleaning to remove dust and bird droppings. The submersible motor and pump should be inspected annually and pulled out every 3–5 years for bearing and impeller check. The solar controller and cable connections should be inspected annually. Treflik offers annual maintenance contracts for all pump systems we supply and install.
