Warehouse & Logistics Solar

Maximise the Value of Your Rooftop

Warehouses and logistics parks have India's best solar real estate — wide flat roofs, minimal shading, and high daytime energy consumption.

Warehouse Solar

India's Best Solar Canvas Is Your Roof

Warehouses and logistics parks represent an ideal combination for solar deployment: large, flat, unobstructed roof surfaces; 24/7 electricity consumption; and minimal shadow interference from surrounding structures. These factors combine to deliver some of the highest solar yields and fastest payback periods in the commercial property sector.

Treflik Solar has installed over 30 MW of warehouse rooftop solar across Maharashtra's logistics corridors — including cold chain facilities in Nagpur, e-commerce fulfilment parks near Pune, and auto ancillary warehouses in the Chakan and Ranjangaon industrial areas.

Maximum Roof Utilisation

Warehouse roofs are India's most under-leveraged solar asset — large, flat, unshaded, and perfectly positioned to generate high solar yields.

Green Warehouse Certification

Solar-powered warehouses qualify for IGBC Green Factory/Warehouse certification, enabling green lease premiums and attracting ESG-focused tenants.

Multi-Tenant Sub-Metering

Our cloud-based billing middleware allocates solar generation credits proportionally across multiple tenants with individual sub-metering per unit.

Solar Canopy for Loading Bays

Solar canopy structures above loading bays and dock levellers provide operational shade and additional generation area beyond the main roof.

Warehouse Solar Economics

Performance data from Treflik Solar's warehouse and logistics portfolio across Maharashtra.

Up to 50%
Energy cost reduction for 24/7 operations

Warehouse facilities with combined solar and storage systems can achieve up to 50% reduction in total energy costs.

Large roof area =
Higher solar yield

Unobstructed flat warehouse roofs consistently achieve higher capacity factors than urban commercial rooftops.

₹1Cr+
Annual savings potential for 10,000 sq ft roof

A 10,000 sq ft warehouse roof can support a 400–500 kW system generating ₹1 crore+ in annual electricity savings.

Our Process

Designed for Operational Continuity

FAQs

Warehouse Solar Questions

Yes — most of our warehouse installations are on metal sheet (GI or colour-coated steel) roofs. We use non-penetrating clamp-mount racking systems specifically designed for standing seam and trapezoidal profile metal roofs. These systems require no drilling into the roof membrane, preserving the roof's waterproofing integrity and manufacturer warranty.

Absolutely. Cold storage facilities are among the best candidates for solar — they operate 24/7 and have very high electricity consumption, primarily for refrigeration compressors. We design systems with battery energy storage options for cold storage to ensure uninterrupted refrigeration power during grid outages. Solar significantly offsets the daytime refrigeration load, delivering major savings on the facility's largest cost item.

In multi-tenant warehouses, we implement individual sub-metering per tenancy unit and our cloud-based billing platform automatically calculates each tenant's proportional share of solar generation. Tenants benefit from a lower per-unit electricity rate under the park's virtual net-metering arrangement. Landlords can monetise the green premium in lease negotiations and attract sustainability-focused tenants.

Yes. Warehouse and logistics parks are well suited to OPEX/RESCO models — Treflik finances, installs, owns, and operates the solar system. The warehouse owner or tenant simply purchases solar electricity at a below-grid per-unit tariff. This model requires no capital expenditure and delivers immediate cost savings from Day 1. We can also structure a build-own-transfer (BOT) arrangement where ownership transfers after the contracted period.
