Institutional Solar

Solar for Schools, Hospitals & Government

Energy independence for institutions — reduce operating costs, demonstrate sustainability leadership, and benefit from government subsidies designed for institutional buyers.

Institutional Solar

Reduce Costs. Lead on Sustainability.

Educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and government buildings have stable, predictable energy loads — making them ideal solar hosts. They also have strong social and policy incentives: sustainability mandates, green campus requirements, and access to government subsidy schemes unavailable to commercial buyers.

Treflik Solar has delivered institutional projects ranging from a 250 kW educational solar laboratory at an Amravati engineering college to a 500 kW medical-grade installation at a Kolhapur district hospital — the first MNRE Green Hospital certification in the district.

Government Subsidy Eligibility

Eligible institutions can access PM Surya Ghar and PM-KUSUM subsidies, significantly reducing the effective capital cost of solar installation.

Educational SCADA Integration

Engineering colleges receive embedded instrumentation — IV curve tracers, panel-level monitoring, and a student dashboard — turning the solar system into a live learning laboratory.

Medical-Grade Power Quality

Hospital installations use hybrid inverters with seamless grid-island transition capability, integrated with existing UPS and generator interlock systems.

CSR & ESG Documentation

We provide comprehensive sustainability impact reports — carbon offset certificates, generation data, and ESG narrative — supporting your institution's annual reporting.

FAQs

Institutional Solar Questions

Several schemes apply to institutional buyers: (1) PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana covers residential-scale connections and may apply to government housing estates. (2) PM-KUSUM Component-C covers government-owned buildings including schools and panchayat offices. (3) State-level schemes under MSEDCL and MEDA provide additional incentives for educational institutions and hospitals. Treflik's team will identify every applicable scheme for your institution and manage the application process end-to-end.

Yes. OPEX/RESCO models are particularly useful for government institutions and trusts that cannot commit capital expenditure easily. Under this model, Treflik finances, owns, and operates the system — the institution simply pays a below-grid per-unit tariff for solar electricity. Government institutions may also pursue a third-party PPA or a build-own-transfer (BOT) model where the system transfers to the institution after 5–7 years.

Many institutions occupy government-owned buildings under long-term lease. In such cases, Treflik works with your administrative body to obtain the necessary approvals from the property-owning authority. For rented properties, we provide standard documentation for roof-use agreements. The OPEX model is often the most practical structure in leasehold situations, as no structural modifications are made and the system remains Treflik's asset.

This is a standard requirement in our hospital installations. We use hybrid inverters capable of operating in grid-tied, off-grid, and islanded modes, with programmable load priority to protect critical circuits. Integration with the hospital's existing UPS infrastructure and diesel generator interlock is engineered during the design phase. We ensure that the solar system never compromises the power quality or continuity of operation theatres, ICU, and life-support equipment.
