Industrial Rooftop Solar

Power Your Factory with Solar Energy

Large-scale rooftop installations for manufacturing plants, processing facilities, and industrial complexes — engineered to handle high load requirements.

Industrial Solar

Large Roofs. High Loads. Maximum Returns.

Manufacturing and processing facilities are among the best candidates for rooftop solar in India: large unobstructed roof areas, continuous daytime energy consumption, and high electricity tariffs. Together, these factors produce some of the shortest payback periods and highest IRRs in the solar sector.

Treflik Solar has commissioned industrial rooftop systems ranging from 500 kW to 20 MW across Maharashtra's manufacturing belt — automotive plants in Pune and Chakan, pharmaceutical clusters in Aurangabad, and food processing facilities in Nashik and Sangli.

Direct Cost of Production Reduction

Solar directly offsets your electricity cost — a fixed input cost — reducing cost per unit of manufactured output and improving margin.

RPO Compliance Without RECs

Meet your Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) through captive solar generation, eliminating the need to purchase Renewable Energy Certificates.

Factory SCADA Integration

Our solar monitoring platform integrates with your existing factory SCADA and EMS via Modbus/RTU or BACnet for unified energy visibility.

Industrial-Grade Engineering

Anti-corrosion hot-dip galvanised racking, vibration-dampened mounting, and high-temperature-rated inverters designed for industrial environments.

FAQs

Industrial Solar Questions Answered

Rooftop solar offsets a portion of your factory's grid consumption — not all of it. For large industrial loads (1–20 MW), the solar system is designed to maximise self-consumption during daylight production hours. A 4–5 MW rooftop system can typically offset 30–45% of a medium-sized manufacturing plant's annual electricity consumption, delivering substantial cost savings without requiring battery storage.

This is evaluated during our on-site structural assessment. Industrial roofs — whether RCC, steel truss, or metal sheet — are assessed for dead load capacity and dynamic wind load. We use lightweight ballasted or clamp-mounted racking systems that add 10–15 kg/m² — within the safe load margin of most industrial roofs. Where structural reinforcement is needed, we provide recommendations and coordinate with structural engineers.

Under CAPEX, your company purchases and owns the system outright, benefiting from 40% accelerated depreciation in Year 1 and full ownership of generation. Under OPEX (also called RESCO or PPA), Treflik finances and owns the system — you simply pay a fixed per-unit tariff for solar electricity, which is below your current grid tariff. OPEX requires zero capital expenditure and is ideal for companies prioritising balance-sheet efficiency. Our finance team will model both options for your specific situation.

Yes. Industrial consumers above 1 MW load in Maharashtra are eligible to sell surplus solar generation to third-party buyers under open-access regulations. This is particularly valuable for seasonal industries — such as sugar mills or textile processors — whose production cycles don't align with peak solar generation months. Treflik has structured open-access PPAs for several Maharashtra industrial clients and can manage the complete regulatory process.
